5 Ways A Wood Comb Can Rescue Natural Hair

Posted by Tesha Burroughs on

If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking for a good way to care for your locks.

I was raised with my mother trying to dig a plastic comb through my tight curls, and it was torture. I only wish she had known about this comb when I was a little girl!

Besides the fact that it makes combing your hair that is Mixed, Latina, Black, Mediterranean, Asian or any gorgeous combination above, the REAL Sandalwood combs have many hair benefits.

The top 5 reasons you should switch to a wood comb for natural hair

Reason # 1 - Static Free!

Due to the comb being entirely of wood, you don’t get that static cling that comes with plastic, factory made combs

Reason #2 - A Natural Massage for Your Scalp

While a plastic comb has never felt like a massage… Wood combs with their thicker, broad bristles give your scalp a nice, much needed massage. Massaging the scalp stimulates blood flow and nutrients to the hair follicles, strengthening them which helps your hair to grow.

And did I mention it feels SOOOOO good!

Reason #3 - Conditions Hair (Really!)

The natural wooden fibers in Sandalwood combs work great to condition your hair. As you comb, the natural oils from your scalp coat your hair shaft all the way down to the ends.

If you’re using a natural hair oil, it will blend with the oils in the wood, making a wonderful, nourishing cocktail of goodness for your locks.

Reason #4 - Minimizes Hair Loss

Plastic combs with close teeth tend to pull and break hair. Wooden, wide tooth combs tend to glide through hair smoothly (even if it’s been dry for a few days).

When I compare the size of clumps that come from my plastic combs to that from my wooden comb, I’m always let out a little shout of victory inside… “Yes! I get to keep my hair today!” lol… ;-)

Reason #5 - May Help With Dandruff?

Since dandruff is due to a dry scalp, regularly massaging it with a wooden Sandlewood comb can help to normalize production of natural hair oils which can help to eliminate dandruff.

  • I bought the anti-static brush and the wooden comb and they are the best two investments I have bought in years. My hair thirteen inches long and break every time I wash it. Each wash I have a handful of hair to throw out. I’ve used the comb and brush twice since receiving them. I love them. I plan to buy the pick, rattail comb, and the paddle brush. Love these products.
